"Book of Life", Chemical Art installation, Variable size, 2022
Metal salts react with sodium silicate to form metal silicate colloids of different colors. Each pill gives birth to a different life form, forming a book of life. By echoing the structural and cognitive contradictions of human civilization through binding, it reminds people of the differences and convergence in their understanding of limitations.
"Tooth Scar Topology", Public Archaeological Apparatus of Chemistry, variable size, 2025, plaster, pig's blood, luminol (C₈H₇N₃O₂)
Drawing on the "Locard's Exchange Principle" from forensic evidence science — which states that "every contact leaves a trace" — the fluorescent traces left by the "contact" between teeth and iron ions prove that bodily experiences never truly vanish; they merely await "development" through technology. Teeth, as the hardest "time capsules" of the human body, make this artistic "forensic practice" essentially a critique of the "systematic neglect of bodily narratives." Only when we take these "tiny pieces of evidence" seriously can we truly understand the complex history of the human body.
It is only with the help of luminol reagent that hidden bloodstains can be visualized, and this process establishes a dialectical relationship between the "visible" and the "invisible." When the audience presses the sprayer, the redox reaction between luminol and iron ions (C₈H₇N₃O₂ + Fe³⁺ → C₈H₅N₃O₂²⁻ + Fe²⁺ + H₂O) becomes the developer of these experiences.
"Drifting Carrier of Pregnancy Track" Chemical art installation, variable size, 2025, white bed sheet, pig's blood, Lumino(C₈H₇N₃O₂ )
The bed sheets and clothes hangers in the delivery room are suspended to form a critical field, where the daily medical symbols strip away their functionality and become the material medium carrying the politics of childbirth. The "invisibility" of the pregnancy marks drawn in pig's blood after being washed is precisely a metaphor for the filtering of the female body narrative by medical discipline.
The audience's action of spraying luminol is an activation of the material politics of "contact traces" : fluorescence spreads along the tracks, liberating the individual trajectories concealed by standardized records from the fabric fibers into visible traces of resistance. The suspended posture enables private experiences to break free from spatial constraints and complete the symbolic drift from "medical records" to "body declarations" in the public domain.

"Above Blood Soil", variable size, 2025, plaster, pig's blood, Lumino(C₈H₇N₃O₂ )
An archaeology driven by a chemical reaction
Here, blood serves as the medium and luminol acts as the messenger. It makes those marks named "shame", "pain" and "private" manifest as the texture of the earth in chemical reactions: the fission of the pelvis is like the movement of tectonic plates, the direction of scars is like the course change of rivers, sanitary napkins are piled up to form alluvial plains, the entanglement of foot binding cloth is like the folds of mountains, and the metallic luster of intrauterine devices is like the veins of minerals deeply buried in rock layers.
This is not a symbolic collage of "female experience", but rather a dialogue between chemistry, geology and the body to deconstruct the binary oppositions regulated by society: private and public, pain and creation, the body and the earth. The fluorescence of luminol will go out, but the process of development has been completed - we will eventually see that every trace of the body is a poem written by the earth to the world.
On the blood soil, all things grow.
"World Rubik's Cube: From Nothing to Something", a chemical art installation, variable size, 2024
Through the chemical reaction between sodium silicate and metal salts. These two originally independent substances combined with each other to form a brand-new compound. The process of this chemical reaction is much like the creation and development of matter in the universe, the origin and evolution of life, from nothing to something, and from order to disorder.
"Ocean Scenes on the Assembly Line", Chemical Art Installation, Lego Automatic Mechanical Installation, Sodium Silicate, Metal Salts, 2025
Using an automatic assembly line device, metal salts are automatically added to sodium silicate, and the "ecological stratification" narrative of the ocean picture is generated. The reaction between sodium silicate and metal salts creates the ocean picture, and this process is growing, demonstrating a kind of growth. The device opens a public intervention channel. Residents can adjust the frequency of metal salt release through the recorded tide observation diary. It is a continuous generation process of Marine ecology, and every moment of crystallization is an ecological text jointly written by nature and human beings.
"Transparent Theater", Chemical Art Theater, Variable size, 2024
Combining traditional entertainment activities with chemical experiments, using transparent mahjong tiles, which contain chemical reaction pills of sodium silicate and metal salts, a participatory real theater is created. The behavioral trajectories and psychological changes of all participants constitute the work itself.
"Monument of Faith", Chemical Art Installation, 300cm×300cm×220cm, 2024
The capsule-like structure is formed through the chemical reaction between sodium silicate and metal salts, and then stacked to form a monument shape. This work demonstrates the process of chemical reactions at the material level, while at the spiritual level, it implies the construction and solidification of faith. The porous nature of silicone metaphorically represents the openness and inclusiveness of the belief system, with each pore being a space for embracing new ideas.
"Breathing Fishing Net", Chemical Behavior Device, 2025, Variable size, 2025, Gypsum, pig's blood, Luminol(C₈H₇N₃O₂)
Combining fishing nets with silicone skin, the silicone mimics the rhythm of human breathing, symbolizing the life connection between humans and the ocean. The fishing net was soaked in a solution simulating the shape of the ocean with fish blood. The luminol reaction made the fish blood traces appear in the form of fluorescence. Different fluorescence intensities corresponded to the ecological conditions of different areas of the ocean. The strong light at the trawl net showed deep-sea trauma. Human beings examine their position in the ecosystem from a new perspective.
"Life, Consciousness, Universe: The Tearing and Attraction of Neurons", Chemical Painting, 80× 400,2024 CM
The chemical displacement reaction of zinc and copper sulfate (Zn+CuSO4==ZnSO4+Cu), iron and copper sulfate (Fe+CuSO4=Cu+FeSO4), and the crystallization reaction of copper sulfate. During the chemical painting process, copper ions can be observed to precipitate from the solution and interweave with the copper ions previously produced by the reaction between zinc and copper sulfate, creating a visual effect similar to an electrical signal. This visual effect symbolizes the tearing and attraction between neurons, which constantly contend, compete and cooperate on the stage of life.
"Prickly Declaration" Chemical Instant Sculpture, Image, 35*24* 2,2025, Zinc, Tin, Epoxy Resin
Construct a symbolic narrative field through material translation. The displacement reaction of zinc and tin solutions generates spiny crystals, forming a spontaneously generated visual grammar - the migration and deposition of metal ions is not only the manifestation of chemical laws but also a deconstructive writing of established forms.
As a coding carrier of social discipline, the intrauterine device (IUD) undergoes symbolic fission within its spiny crystalline structure: its functional shell is penetrated by the primitive force of material growth, forming a visual dialectics of discipline and resistance. The work transforms chemical reactions into a mechanism for meaning production, making the narrative logic of the material itself a microscopic mirror image of body politics.
"Samsara of the Dharma-ending Ensemble", Chemical Instant sculpture, variable size, 2024
Using gallium, a material with a low melting point (solid at room temperature but with a melting point of only 29.76°C), to create 19 statues of Sakyamuni, the continuous transformation process of the metal Buddha statues from solid to liquid and back to solid varies with different temperatures throughout the day and in the four seasons.
"Eternity is the Untouchable Illusion", Chemical Instant Sculpture, Variable size, 2024
While exploring the impermanence of time and existence. Gallium, a metal ranked 31st in the periodic table, can melt into a liquid state in human hands due to its low melting point. When this gallium is made into a diamond ring and worn on the finger, the moment it is placed in water, it begins to slowly melt, deform and flow, just like time itself, elusive and immovable
"Urban Metabolic Theater" biological art installation, 2025
Treating black soldier flies—with a lifespan of only 40 days—as natural observers of urban ecosystems, their swarming activities are guided not only by the material properties of waste but also shaped by the structural layout of cities, when viewed through the lenses of human metrics and temporal scales. Their movement trajectories thus serve as a "code" for deciphering urban metabolism.
The sand table, evolving continuously over time, functions as a dynamic experimental arena for urban sustainable development. This work builds on the theme of "power dynamics" explored in previous creations, while focusing on the pluralistic coexistence within urban ecosystems.
"Civilization Entropy Change", 2025, dust, incense ash, express delivery, performance art installation
The coastal dust collected on foot, mixed with Marine moisture, mangrove particles and industrial residues, serves as material evidence of the regional ecology. Each speck of dust carries the true trajectory of the interaction between the coastal nature and humans. The temple incense ash purchased embodies the people's faith and prayer for wealth and peace, and serves as an emotional carrier of the local humanistic spirit. The combination of the two forms Chinese and Western chess pieces, allowing ecological substances and faith symbols to blend at the physical level. With the material narrative of dust and ash, it questions the symbiotic boundary between local ecology and collective spirit.
Decoding Time
,
Physical Instant Physical Instant Physical Instant Installation, Variable Dimensions, 2025
Centered on the technical core of magnetic field line principles, this work re-deconstructs the definition of time. The uniformly flowing time we perceive in daily life is not an essential law of the universe, but a cognitive model actively created by the brain to simplify its understanding of the world.
Through the invisible yet perceptible force relationships within magnetic fields, the work reveals the artificial construct of time. Human cognition of time, in essence, is a subjective framework built to understand the connections between things, rather than an absolute scale with objective existence.
Time Archaeology,Chemical Public Art Installation, Variable Dimensions, 2025
The work integrates plants with sculptural animal bones to construct a simulated archaeological site. By day, it exists as a white public sculpture, quietly presenting the traces of symbiosis between life and nature. By night, viewers can spray the site with luminol reagent— the fused parts of bones and plants will emit fluorescence, as if the temporal traces discovered in archaeology are lit up.
Through its static daytime display and interactive nighttime "archaeology", the work transforms time into historical traces: the passing of life and the changes of nature are all recorded by time in the form of material fusion. As viewers engage in this "archaeological process", they can touch the life memories precipitated by time.
Perception of Wind,Physical Instant Physical Instant Public Installation, Variable Dimensions, 2025
The work is based on a form of bamboo dragonflies and poles of varying heights. The bamboo dragonflies will fall naturally, and then real dragonflies will take their place on the poles. Viewers are invited to search for dragonflies in the grass surrounding the installation and return them to the poles to complete the interaction. In this process, time breaks away from a unified measurement standard and transforms into a subjective perceptual experience. The focus of searching, the anxiety of waiting, and the relief of returning, these feelings allow everyone to sense the natural relativity of time, which can be either long or short, thus breaking the inherent perception that time flows at a constant speed.
