As human creative endeavors extend beyond the Kármán line, much of space art remains trapped in the anthropocentric inertia of traditional surveying. Artists attempt to format the universe using Earth's symbols, time, and value scales, reducing deep space to a projection of terrestrial narratives. This is essentially a transfer of Earth's disciplinary systems into space, still tethered to Earth's gravitational well and cognitive boundaries.
Building on the Xu Bing Art Satellite Residency Program, artist Zhang Meichun’s Dust Legislation aims to conduct a systematic "anti-surveying" artistic practice. We advocate for transferring the coordinate system to satellites, allowing us to reassess humanity’s perception systems, temporal narratives, and symbolic orders in the context of the vacuum of space.
This project positions the in-orbit satellite as its core creative medium, with the laws of cosmic physics as its central material. Through four major chapters and 12 works, it constructs a thought-provoking closed loop, with the global premiere set for March 26, 2026, in Italy.
02 Anti-Surveying Execution Matrix: Full Chain Deconstruction in Four Dimensions
Based on the core logic of "anti-surveying," this project establishes a progressive deconstruction matrix. It is not only an escape from established cognitive systems but also a physical realization of the Xu Bing Art Satellite Project's "Shared Creation" concept. From the microscopic bodily antenna to the macroscopic void legislation, these four levels mutually annotate one another, collectively pointing toward a singular goal: to establish a creative order beyond the Kármán line, free from Earth's disciplinary constraints.

Bodily Antenna Embodied Anti-Surveying: Dissolving the centrality of the perceiving subject and transforming the body into a trembling antenna that receives deep space signals.
Chapter Two:
Entropic Metabolism Temporal Anti-Surveying: Deconstructing the grand narrative of linear time, confronting entropy—the inescapable physical fate of civilization.
Chapter Three:
Planetary Diagnosis Spatial Anti-Surveying: Inverting the established power structures, transforming the in-orbit satellite into a "cosmic surgical knife" that examines Earth.
Chapter Four:
Void Legislation Symbolic Anti-Surveying: Completing the ultimate escape from disciplinary systems, establishing a new order in the absolute vacuum that defies definition.

As the ultimate culmination of the anti-surveying practice, this project officially opens the public access to its core carrier — the Relativity Arbitrage Agreement.
Physical Entity: The in-orbit satellite continuously generates a 38-microsecond relativistic time surplus every day. This is the only pure physical time untainted by Earth's symbolic systems, power structures, or capitalist logic.
Asset Conversion: We refuse to calibrate this time, instead extracting it as a shareable time rights carrier — STIME (Relativity Time Coin).
Rights Redemption: For every 1 microsecond of STIME exchanged, participants must upload a core digital memory. This memory will be permanently and irreversibly erased by the satellite, forming a cosmic-level archival proof.

Time Coin Rights Redemption Explanation
After the official global premiere on March 26, 2026, in Italy, the project team will continue to send physical commemorative STIME Relativity Time Coins to all participants who have completed the online rights confirmation.
